Every released AGPL-3.0 version is free forever — you never pay to read your own data. Khiip Plus enriches every capture and renders it in Khiip's styled format, as a self-hosted subscription you can start free for 30 days. New self-host installs are paused during a restructure — existing installations and subscriptions are unaffected.

How the trial works

Free for 30 days. Clear about the rest.

  • Card up front, charged at day 30. You enter a card to start; nothing is charged during the trial. On day 30 it converts to your chosen plan and renews automatically.
  • A reminder before any charge. We tell you the charge date when you sign up and send a reminder before the trial ends — no surprise first bill.
  • Cancel in one click, anytime. Cancel during the trial and you're never charged. Cancel later and Plus runs to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Lapse just reverts to free Khiip. If Plus ends, your data is untouched — captures and renders fall back to the free base tier. You keep everything you captured.
  • An offline license key, not a leash. Plus unlocks with an Ed25519 key your daemon verifies locally. No login to your machine, no telemetry, no phone-home.

Billing, tax, and cancellation are handled by Stripe Managed Payments, our merchant of record; at checkout your purchase shows as "Sold through Link." Both monthly and annual plans are self-hosted — Khiip Plus runs on your own machine, the same as the free core. Founding pricing is locked for the life of your subscription; we only ever raise the price for new members.

Ownership

Captures outlive the subscription.

  • Your files stay yours. Every capture Plus made — the styled Markdown and the enriched typed data — stays on your disk if you stop paying, fully readable by Obsidian, your agents, and grep.
  • Lapse is a downgrade, not a lockout. New captures simply fall back to the free base tier; nothing already captured is touched.
  • Subscribing later upgrades old captures. Khiip keeps the raw bytes it captured. With an active key, khiipd refetch --re-extract re-derives old base captures at Plus depth from those kept bytes — offline, no re-fetch.
